Field trip! Get your permission slip signed, we're headed to Bresca & the Honeybee, Krista Desjarlais's summer gig at Outlet Beach in New Gloucester. Krista, also of the Purple House, spends these days blending fanciful ice cream and scooping it up for swimmers. There are kid-friendly flavors like Birthday Cake Sprinkle and Black Raspberry Chocolate Chip, while grown up tastes might include Creme Fraiche Key Lime Pie or Passion Fruit with Caramelized White Chocolate, as well as something boozy. Flavors change constantly, but they're always a delightful surprise. Beach open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily, ice cream opens at 11 a.m., weather permitting.
